This Annual Meeting is open to all Big Sky Skeet & Trap Club Members. The Annual Meeting announcement was by postcard mailed on 15 October 2007 to all club members.
The Treasurer presented the target expenditure report for the period - 1 Nov. 2006 through 31 Oct. 2007. For the first nine months we averaged 5.37% lost targets. However, during the last three months lost targets went up dramatically to 12.62%: August – 11.25%, September - 12.09% and October – 14.81%. Report is on Club Bulletin Board.
Club Cash Flow was also discussed. For the year 1 November 2006 thru 31 October 2007, cash flow was $-1,107.19. This is partially due to lower levels of shooting by the club members.
Also discussed and approved was raising the Visitor/Non Member cost to $7.00 per round for either Skeet or Trap.
Starting 1 November 2007 thru 31 December 2007, we will have a ‘short’ year. This will allow us to adjust our Fiscal year to the Calendar year. Next year’s membership will be from 1 January 2008 to 31 December 2008.
December Monthly Meeting will be on the 2nd at 1:00pm.
Currently there are 57 Annual, 1 Corporate, 26 Active Life and 6 Inactive Life Members.
Because of the shorter days, the range will close at 4:00pm until further notice.
Henry Cribbs, President, will attend the Alabama Skeet Shooting Association Meeting for the Big Sky Skeet & Trap Club. Our plan to have five registered shoots in 2008. Depending on ASSA’s schedule, we are looking at shoots in February, March, May, August, and either late September or early October. Four of the shoots will be a one day shoot: the Rocket City Open, a two day shoot.
Discussed a ‘Five Stand’ for the Club. Estimated cost would be between $6,000.00 and $8,000.00. Currently not in the budget.
The dues are set for next year. However, we discussed ways to improve the Clubs Cash Flow.
- Change the dues in 2009 to $150.00 to include a $50.00 credit towards skeet/trap. The credits would expire at the end of the club year
- Increase the number of work days and include all club members. This would reduce the cost for the Club in grounds maintenance.
- ‘How do we promote the Club?’ Advertising, plus a number of other topics were discussed.
- Any suggestions from the members?
Existing Club Officers were reelected.
